This course (Paisley & Lanarkshire deliveries only) is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) as fully meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered IT Professional and, on behalf of the Engineering Council, as fully meeting the academic requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Part-time students must complete their studies within 6 years to gain BCS recognition.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Scottish Highers: BCC (69 UCAS Tariff points) including Maths or Computing Science or equivalent 
  • A levels: DDD (72 UCAS Tariff points) including Maths or Computer Science
  • Irish Leaving Certificate: H3 H3 H3
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: 24 points
  • Scottish Widening Access Programme: Access to STEM or Access to Engineering – BBB
  • Scottish Advanced Highers: CCD (112 UCAS Tariff points) including Computing Science
  • A levels: either BCC (104 UCAS Tariff points) including Computer Science
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: 28 points
  • SQA HNC / BTEC Level 4 HNC: Computing (must include pass in Computer Programming modules) or Computing Science or Software Development
  • SQA HND / BTEC Level 5 HND / Foundation Degree: Computer Science (including passes in modules containing Computer Programming and Databases) or Software Development or Computing: Software Development
