About the course

UWS’s BA (Hons) Broadcast Production: TV and Radio programme will prepare you for success in the broadcast industry.

Led by experienced teaching staff, the course combines theory and practice-based learning to give you a thorough understanding of television, radio and other modern digital media.

You’ll work in UWS’s radio and television studios, which feature the latest broadcasting facilities and digital sound and video editing suites, helping you develop the practical skills in demand.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • SQA Highers: BCC (69 UCAS Tariff points)
  • GCE A-Levels: DDD (72 UCAS Tariff points)
  • Irish Leaving Certificate: H3 H3 H3
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: 24 points
  • Scottish Wider Access Programme: Access to Humanities BBB with Higher English or Communications 4 and Literature 1
  • Scottish Advanced Highers: BBC (136 UCAS Tariff points) including English plus SQA National 5 (Grade C, or above) / Standard Grade (Credit) Maths
  • A levels: BBC (112 UCAS Tariff points) including English or Equivalent
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: 28 points 
  • SQA HNC / BTEC Level 4 HNC: Communication with Media or Interactive Media or Media Analysis & Production or Sound Production or Radio Production or Creative Industries (Television) or Creative Industries (Radio) or another relevant discipline
  • SQA HND / BTEC Level 5 HND / Foundation Degree: Communication or Media or Interactive Media or Communication with Media or Media Analysis & Production or Sound Production or Radio Production or Creative Industries (Television) or Creative Industries (Radio) or another relevant discipline, (for SQA awards, with Grade B in Graded Unit)
